Though the word "stance" isn't make as big a wave as it did only a few years ago doesn't mean it's any less of a stronghold in most parts of the world. Still popular in the States, the Japanese spin the style in their own unique way, often times going much lower, stretched and cambered in ways to amaze and astound - and boy, do they do it right. However controversial it is regarding the safety and overall necessity to put a car under such extremes, there is no doubting that these cars, most of which you'd never find except in Japan, are downright dope. DL-OSK-EDIT-32 Mark Arcenal's Hellaflush/illest brands continues to flourish around the world, supporting the stance gospel, and his Offset Kings show is one that brings the most hardcore of the sub-genre out from hiding. The Japanese have long been able to fit fender filling wheel/tire combos to their cars with great precision; some of them work, others miss the mark. DL-OSK-EDIT-14 Though Fuji Speedway typically plays host to the likes of more pure motorsport festivities (F1, D1GP, only to name a popular couple), the Offset Kings took over a small portion of its grounds to let the lowered masses come and congregate. Though there were a few recognizable cars in sight, there are far more fresh builds that got us excited. DL-OSK-EDIT-8 I'm personally a fan of wheels that just hit the edge of the fender and a groove that moves more towards finding that overall balance of performance, function and form really. These FCs, FDs and S-chassis cars remain timeless after all these years... DL-OSK-EDIT-47 DL-OSK-EDIT-46 Though it's largely dominated by stance enthusiasts, you do find a good group of cars that are built more for performance, such as this pristine AE86 engine bay that's been shaved, and the 4AG outfitted with ITBs and a crazy stainless header: DL-OSK-EDIT-22 No fender? No problem. This Z32 owner probably would've lost a fender on the highway at this height anyway! DL-OSK-EDIT-27 There's no denying the popularity of stanced rides, and Japan is proof positive that no matter where you are in this great world of ours, there's a scene for everyone to get into and support.
