Race week begins at King of The Hammers with the 2016 KLIM King of the Motos on Sunday. A sportsman class takes off from the line first, followed minutes later by a Pro class. This year included a running start from the racers and a scramble up a steep hillside near Jackhammer trail. From there they followed a 24- to 27-mile course with ending position placing them in starting order for the afternoon race.

In the afternoon they’d loop a 9-mile track for 3 hours including desert terrain and rocky areas with each lap taking on average 45-minutes for faster riders. This year’s first place “King” of the Motos was three-time winner Cody Webb. Only eight seconds separated Webb from Taylor Robert in second and Colton Haaker in third. Last year’s KOM winner, Cory Graffunder, finished just behind them in fourth.
