The summertime monthly gathering is sponsored by The Auto Gallery group of dealerships and Lavaggio. cars-and-cigars-01 Lavaggio, an upscale state-of-the-art detailing facility in Agoura Hills is the perfect place to hold this type of event. The modern Mediterranean style architecture with waterfalls and fountains sets off the wide open parking areas for 50 plus cars. It has become a local gathering place for the car community. The on-site Bellini Bistro provided refreshments and appetizers for the attendees and there was even music to enhance the mood. cars-and-cigars-414 The work bays and certified staff were busy as usual, working on multiple vehicles. cars-and-cigars-b401 This season's first Cars and Cigars kicked off with an invitational Ferrari drive through the Malibu canyons, coordinated by Mark and Louise of The Auto Gallery. cars-and-cigars-02 As fate would have it, Michael Harley from Autoblog was driving a new 2015 Ferrari 458 Speciale for review on the canyon roads, so after stopping to ogle the car, everyone finished the ride together and converged on Lavaggio. cars-and-cigars-b407 Ferrari’s limited-production 458 Speciale is a faster version of the 458 Italia with the 4.5 Liter V8 engine configured to 597 horsepower and 398 pound-feet of torque versus 562 HP for the Italia, plus 40% faster shifting. With 200 pounds of driver amenities (audio, navigation, cruise control, carpets) gone, the combination of mid-engine balance and SSC (Side Slip Angle Control) allow even faster acceleration and controlled cornering. Top speed is 202 mph and 0-60 only takes 2.9 seconds!  Estimated base price: $298,000. cars-and-cigars-b413 Arriving at Lavaggio, people congregated around the 458 Speciale but were also able to relax on the outside patio - and enjoy complimentary cigars, of course. cars-and-cigars-b406 Besides the new and classic Ferrari’s from the drive, Ford GT 40's, Aston Martin’s and Dodge Vipers were also on hand. The Auto Gallery brought a new Maserati Ghibli, McLaren 12C Spider and a Lamborghini Aventador to share with the group. cars-and-cigars-411 cars-and-cigars-b405 cars-and-cigars-b410 cars-and-cigars-416 cars-and-cigars-b417 cars-and-cigars-b418
