Vintage Omix-ADA Jeep Collection Coming To SEMA

article The 2015 SEMA show is less than a week away. While the show is always a hot bed for new products and rides, it doesn’t mean everything you’ll see is modern. We recently got word Omix-ADA (a major manufacturer of Jeep, truck and off-road parts and accessories) will be bringing out some extremely clean vintage Jeeps. Here’s a sneak peak at some Omix-ADA Jeep rigs that they will be hauling to the show. 4 Farm truck anyone? This 1946 Willys CJ-2A Farm Jeep is fit with dual-wheels front and rear and is as workhorse as they come. To make it more versatile, it was equipped with a welding unit, a rear-mounted Newgren buzz saw with table, and a side-arm mower bar on the driver’s side. 2 We’re not sure this would be the fire truck we would want showing up at our house, but this 1947 Willys CJ-2A was likely very effective for fighting small fires in the wilderness. Produced as early as 1945, only a small number of CJ-2As were ever converted to fire trucks. This one here was purchased from Mark A. Smith, the founder of Jeep Jamboree USA, and is said to be only one a few hundred originally produced by Boyer. 3 There are few things more drool-worthy than a Willys pickup. This particular 1955 Willys 4x4 truck is said to be originally used by the A.W. Berryesa Company in Bridgeport, California. It is equipped with a 226 Super Hurricane six-cylinder Continental engine and T-90 transmission. Of the collection, this is the one we are most excited to see. Omix-ADA fc-jeep-6 When it comes to unique, and a little odd, the Forward Control ranks pretty high on our list. We’re told this 1959 Jeep FC-150 is one of only 1,546 produced. Originally, trucks were marketed as work vehicles and over the years, they've become coveted collectables. The cab-over design and custom bed and chassis on this model definitely makes it one we’d like to have. 1 The CJ-2A won’t be the only fire Jeep on showcase. The 1982 CJ-7 you see here once served as a brush truck with the Northwest Homer Fire Protection District in Texas. It was designed to battle wildfires in areas where larger, and much heavier, fire trucks could not safely gain access. To check out the entire Omix-ADA Jeep catalog, visit www.JeepCollection.com.
