The fifth race in the Formula DRIFT 2013 Championship took place last weekend at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, Washington. With only two races following this one, it's dubbed the "Throwdown" and this one lived up to its name. Nitto Tire driver, Vaughn Gittin Jr. advanced to the Great 8 before he was taken down due to transmission issues. Gittin is just 21 points behind the lead, in his current 4th place points standing for the National Championship – Nitto Tire teammates Chelsea DeNofa and Matt Powers are also in the top 16. With Texas and Irwindale laying ahead, it's still anyone's game.
