Micro Cars Reign at the Little Car Show

Little15 004 Ahhh, it’s great to be back at The Little Car Show in Pacific Grove during Monterey Car Week 2015. Last year, this micro car show was a really nice discovery for me, although it has been going on for 6 years. Hop over to last year's coverage, along with more little cars from the Mini-Car Marque Day 2014 at Supercar Sunday. Little15 002 Most Monterey Car Week attendees whom I mentioned that I was going to this show said, “Oh, I wish I could go” or, “Wish I could be there…” as if it was such a difficult show to get to. Yes, Pacific Grove, otherwise known as Butterfly Town USA, is the opposite direction from Monterey, Carmel and Pebble Beach, but it’s still on the Monterey Peninsula and really only about a ten or fifteen minute drive. Little15 001 Since I was coming from the Carmel Mission car show, I was running a little late and just missed the group of Manx Dune Buggies led by Mike Meyers in his original Manx#1, but regardless, I wasn’t disappointed with the large gathering of “Little” cars stretching over four barricaded blocks. Little15 015 I recognized some from the previous year, such as Wild Bill's flame-throwing, weenie-roasting Metropolitan. Plus the rattan-interior Fiat and some older electric vehicles (see gallery below). Little15 009 There were a lot of new offerings too, including completely original and untouched MG’s (Gallery) to totally restored Citroens. Little15 007 The most fun thing at the show was the group of about a dozen excited kids leading 3 moms around who were taking their pictures in every car that would let them. Talk about the future leaders of the car business! Little15 026 One of the things that gives this unique gathering it’s great vibe is that, even though it’s held during Monterey Car Week, it doesn’t feel stuffy or staid (understatement!) Little15 010 The Little Car Show is still just a great down-to-earth place for people to see cool cars and everyone just enjoys it for what it is. See more in the following gallery:
